Over the years, Nizwal Investment has grown from a modest private equity firm into a leading force in the global investment landscape. With a strong foundation in Canada, we have consistently expanded our portfolio and capabilities, earning the trust of partners across industries.
By 2014, our assets under management (AUM) surpassed CAD $10 billion, driven by strategic growth and performance. A major milestone came in 2016 when we acquired Joonry & Co., a renowned private equity fund-of-funds firm based in Toronto. This acquisition not only deepened our investment expertise but also expanded our presence in the North American market.
In the same year, we integrated the Canadian HR operations of Feredo, adding over 350 experienced professionals to our team. This move significantly strengthened our service offerings and allowed us to deliver a comprehensive range of investment and administrative solutions.

Nizwal Investment traces its roots back to 1966, when it began as a regional association focused on advancing investment opportunities. At that time, our founding members included 68 mutual funds and 43 closed-end funds, managing a combined total of $1 billion in assets. This marked the beginning of a legacy built on trust, performance, and forward-thinking investment strategies. Since then, Nizwal has grown steadily, transforming into a global private equity leader while staying true to its mission of creating value and empowering financial growth.
Became The Investment Expert
In 1999, Nizwal Investment rebranded itself to reflect a stronger and more focused commitment to financial expertise and client trust. That same year marked a turning point, as underwriters and mutual fund advisers became eligible for membership—broadening the firm’s reach and influence in the financial services sector. The company's objectives became the guiding principles behind a wide range of investment strategies and advisory solutions. By 2005, Nizwal Investment had made remarkable progress. It expanded its portfolio across multiple asset classes, enhanced its research capabilities, and began forging key alliances with institutional investors globally.
